About UsMy husband, Dan and I live on Navarre Beach in Florida with our little family of mi-kis. We have had mi-kis in our lives since 1996. A mi-ki is the sweetest, most loving little dog we have ever experienced. My husband is a "big dog" person but even he fell in love with our first little mi-ki, Peaches. She is over 5 years old now and we have had heard her bark only 3 or 4 times...ever! Mi-kis are calm and not "yappy" like some other toy breeds we have either owned or been around. They are the perfect companion for all kinds of people. And mi-kis are very easy to care for. They have hair instead of fur so a metal comb once a week is all you really need to keep them looking their best.
We love to sail and travel. Our mi-kis even go on the sailboat with us all the time...they love it! Peaches and Orly (another one of our mi-kis) traveled with us to Italy for 5 months. They especially loved the fresh mozzarella cheese and plum cake! Our mi-kis have always been wonderful travelers and can safely and happily travel under an airplane seat. I have even carried Peaches secretly into restaurants with me in a large purse and she never utters a peep! They do very well in a hotel room because they are paper-trained or will use a litter box. They do not need to be walked like other breeds so they are the perfect pet for the working person. It is really amazing how adaptable the breed is. As you can see if you take the time to peruse our other pages, our little family has grown over the ensuing years since we took Peaches home. The pups we have are raised as essential parts of our family. Liberty Belle (she joined our family after the events of 9/11) and I went to the International All Breed and Mi-ki Specialty Show in Minnesota last year. It was the first dog show for both of us. At only 3 months old, she absolutely amazed me. She was so smart and fiesty to be so young. Libby (as we like to call her around the house) won 2 first place awards and 1 second place. She also snagged the National Baby Championship. Our mi-kis have given us so much companionship, fun and love. Our daughter has 2 of her own and they are truly like her children! They are so gentle and adorable. If you decide after visiting our site that a mi-ki is the pet for you, I know that you will get as much pleasure and joy as we have once you bring one home. ![]() A Family Portrait (Libby, Dan, Ciao Bella, Peaches, Belinda, Goldie & Rowdy) |
